Egeria najas is an easy to care, fast-growing stem plant, very useful for absorbing nitrates. In nature this aquatic plant often floats in the water, with a 1 mm diameter stem, tender, easy to break with upper leaves generally arranged in whorls with five leaves.

With regular pruning you can create beautiful bushes and green walls with a beautiful impact.

Aquarium equipment

In the aquarium it can be used as a floating plant, but also in groups arranged in the background.

Bright lighting is essential for good cultivation.

Plant care

It is advisable to carry out regular pruning to prevent it from bending once it reaches the surface and then go to shield the light for the underlying plants.

Water care

Egeria najas is very suitable for tropical aquariums, where it grows even at fairly high temperatures (optimal 15-26°C). Soft or medium hard water is recommended.
