Description
In fresh water a deficiency of iron makes plants turn yellow and decay rapidly. In seawater it is essential for symbiotic algae, vital for the survival of many species of invertebrates, phytoplankton and, of course, macro-algae.
Unfortunately, iron, even in the form of a chelate, remains bio-available for a very short time, so its concentration must be periodically checked to ensure that its level is between 0.1-0.6 mg / l (ppm ) in fresh water and 0.002-0.05 mg / l in sea water.
