Aquarium decoration

Every material used in the aquarium has been collected from Nature. Fine grained quartz sand in gray hues was used on the ground. Dry reeds and reed leaves collected from nature to represent the flooded reed area, dry tree branches and dry grass that will form sediment on the ground have been collected and each one has been carefully included in the composition to make it resemble a habitat.

While arranging the composition, care was taken to ensure that it was natural enough to activate the natural behaviors and instincts of the fish. Peat was used in the filter to lightly stain the water with tannin. I used my drawing skills to create the depth in the background.

Aquarium equipment

• Nitrate, biological sponge and peat were used at Seachem in an Eden 501 brand filter.
• Since it is summer, there is no heater.
• Lighting is provided by a 10w 1200 lm led projector.

• Helantium tenellum

Fish care

In order to protect the health of the fish, water parameters are checked at regular intervals. Live and quality dry feeds are provided. Water temperature and water parameters are kept in accordance with the natural environment of these cichlids. Breeding and hiding areas were created for fish. Plants and botanicals were arranged so that they could show the natural behavior.

Plant care

The plants are fed with minerals from the water and nitrogenous compounds left over from the fish food.

Water care

I do water changes by checking the water parameters. I use a mixture of 15-20% RO and tap water once a week or every two weeks. This is how water values ​​in the natural environment are reached.
