The Su Stream is located in a small town called Yixing in Zhejiang province. It origins in Zhejiang and joins in Tai Lake. Hundreds years ago, it was an important water source for local residents. It is now, however, away from towns and cities, hardly being disturbed by human activities. As a result, various fishes live there, including Rhodeus sinensis, Acrossocheilus fasciatus, Opsariichthys evolans and Pseudogastromyzon changtingensis.

Aquarium decoration

To make the water tank more natural, most of the decorations, including rocks, stones, sands and dry branches are collected from the original environment. They also help to maintain the water quality of the aquarium similar to the natural habitat. I also keep in the tank the wetland plant Acorus gramineus, which naturally grows in the habitat.

Fish care

The species of fishes are selected from the Su stream habitat. Since they live in an environment with strong water current, I installed a water pump to create water flow. It can also produce oxygen, satisfying their oxygen requirements.
