Kansombo, Lake Tanganyika, Tanzania

Sponsored by

Tanzania, Mkombe, Kabwe

The Kansombo area was one of the first to be sought for the collection of Cyphotilapias. In this area, it is difficult to fish, due to the depth and poor visibility. Kansombo has three smaller bays, named ‘The Large’, ‘The Medium’ and ‘The Small’. When we are referring to Kansombo, mostly we refer to the rocky stretch between the medium and small bay (Kansombo Kati Bay and Kansombo Ndogo Bay). The area where Cyphotilapias live is quite deep. I was inspired by some videos of lake Tanganyika that I saw.
