Apteronotus albifrons is a freshwater, benthopelagic fish native to Suriname. It is largely present in South America, from Venezuela to Paraguay. It also occurs in the Paraná rivers and in the Amazon Basin of Peru. This fish lives in rapidly flowing waters of creeks with a sandy bottom. Is a micro-predator of insect larvae.
