Heteranthera zosterifolia is an aquatic plant native to South America, and especially northeast Argentina, northwest Argentina, Bolivia, northeast Brazil, south Brazil, southeast Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay. It is a stem plant with green lanceolate leaves that can be submersed or floating on the water surface. Similarly, its blue flowers spread and float on the water. In its country of origin, Brazil, it usually grows in stangant waters and swampy areas.
