On our way driving back, I stopped at every Quebrada I had seen. And already the first one before Chinchivat I found a goldmine for our aquarium: a beautiful Aequidens species with large, bright turquoise spots, otherwise looked like Aequidens tetramerus. Than a Bujurquina species, possibly Bujurquina hophrys. Many characoids here, really abundant. First a tiny bright blue Tyttocharax species with a large yellow pre-caudal spot and a dark blue humeral stripe behind its gill. Than a Moenkhausia species with a giant jet-black adipose, never was a characoid seen before in South America with such a large adipose…
