Mexico, State of Mexico, Ocoyoacac
This biotope aquarium represents the marginal area of Laguna el Arco, La Marquesa National Park, where you can find a population of goodeid Girardinichthys multiradiatus, locally known as Mexclapique, a fish endemic to Mexico with the category of endangered species. according to the IUCN, while in NOM-059-SEMARNAT-2010 this species is not considered at risk.
For the recreation of this biotope aquarium, the Mexcalpique and the Acocil are used as the main inhabitants. The behavior within the aquarium is peaceful and the number of specimens chosen from both species does not represent any problem of aggressiveness between themselves. The choice was limited to these species since they are endemic to the area and represent the richness of endemisms that exist in central Mexico, in addition we contribute in some way to their conservation. As for flora, other plants present in the BIN are not used since what is recreated is the submerged part where Elodea predominates in 98% of the Laguna.
