This 80L aquarium showcases Lake Shyamkhola. It is housed with native fishes and native plants from my city. Substrate is small gravels with sand and clay bed. Driftwood, bamboo sticks, stones give it a natural look. Even waste products like earthen pottery are used which act as a natural shelters for small fishes.

Aquarium decoration

Presence of dense green planting with Vallisneria is used to give it a lush look. The background has Hygrophila polysperma.

Substrate is small gravels with sand and clay bed. Driftwood, stones and earthen pottery are used to give it a natural look. Products like earthen pottery present at the bottom which act as a natural shelters for small fishes.

Fish care

Water change of 50% weekly once. After every water change dechlorinator is used along with a bacteria to maintain good ecological balance of the system. Live tubifex are used as food as all the fishes are wild caught and do not take to pellets very well.

Plant care

Root tablets are placed under the substrate every month. Low dosage of micro nutrients are used for stem plants like Hygrophila polysperma.

Water care

Water change of 50% weekly once. After every water change dechlorinator is used along with a bacteria to maintain good ecological balance of the system.
