A biotoper is an aquarist who goes beyond simply keeping fish and plants. It is someone who looks at the aquarium as a living ecosystem and seeks to understand the natural environment from which its inhabitants originate.
Biotoping means researching natural habitats, observing their characteristic conditions and translating this knowledge into the aquarium. Water parameters, substrate, aquatic plants, wood, rocks, leaf litter, fish species and their ecological relationships all become part of the process.
The goal is not simply to reproduce an attractive underwater landscape. It is to create an aquarium that tells the story of a real aquatic environment and helps us better understand the organisms that live there.
KEEP ON BIOTOPING is the BAP spirit in four words: keep exploring, keep researching, keep observing and keep creating aquariums inspired by nature.
