Distribution: South America – Colombia and Trinidad south to La Plata River basin east of the Andes: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Ecuador, Colombia, French Guiana, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, Uruguay and Venezuela; introduced in Hawaiian Islands.
