The official Biotope Aquarium Project T-Shirt celebrates one of the most recognizable messages associated with aquarist, explorer and biotope researcher Heiko Bleher: “THINK FISH.”
For Heiko Bleher, these two simple words expressed an essential principle of responsible aquarium keeping: think from the fish’s point of view.
An aquarium should not be created only for the pleasure of the person looking at it. Before choosing the decoration, plants or equipment, the aquarist should first understand the fish: where it comes from, how it lives, the water it inhabits, its natural habitat, its behaviour and the ecological relationships that surround it.
This philosophy is at the heart of the biotope-correct aquarium: recreating an aquatic environment based on real natural habitats and putting the needs and biology of the fish first.
The front of the T-shirt features the statement “THE BEST AQUARIST in the world”, while the back carries the iconic “THINK fish” message together with the Biotope Aquarium Project logo.
